About this deal

As we’re on the subject of This Is The End, I mention a story I’d heard a rumour about but that he hasn’t included in the book, specifically that Emma Watson, who appears, like most people in the film, as a version of herself, stormed off the set after refusing to shoot one of the movie’s more out-there scenes, one that sees Danny McBride as a cannibal and Channing Tatum as his leather-thonged gimp on a leash. It was one of those things where the deeper you go, the more you realise that no one has dug that well before.” a b Laudau, Elizabeth (April 27, 2011). "Seth Rogen: Alzheimer's is 'brutal' ". CNN . Rogen created a cannabis brand in the city of Toronto, Ontario, with his friend Evan Goldberg. [157] After attending pottery classes with his wife in 2017, he began making ceramics. [158] He cites artist Kenneth Price as an inspiration. [159] [160] He made his debut as an author with his first collection of essays, Yearbook, in 2021. The book is a collection of true stories which he wanted to be funny at worst and life-changing at best. He covers a lot of topics in his book from his own life, including his grandparents, doing stand-up when he was only a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and the Jewish summer camp that he attended. Rogen also tells stories about doing drugs as well as his adventures in Los Angeles with other famous people. His meetings with major Hollywood players such as Nicolas Cage, George Lucas and Eddie Griffin are particularly enjoyable. When Rogen was sixteen years old he landed a role on Judd Apatow’s Freaks and Geeks television show. Thhat show became a cult hit and Rogen became the main wage earner in his family. The series was a cult hit, but not a commercial one and it was canceled after just one season. However, Apatow then case Rogen in his next television show, Undeclared. In addition to working as an actor on the show, he was also a writer. Unfortunately, this show was also canceled after only one season. Rogen has proven to be a gifted storyteller throughout his career so it should be no surprise that he is in this book as well. The book is somewhat of an autobiography, but instead of being told in long form it is told through short, insightful essays. Each of the chapters has a piece of dialogue from his life that Rogen remembers and he manages to tell self-deprecating, amusing stories.

Once I grew more comfortable with doing other drugs that were more stigmatised and not worrying about damage in terms of anyone’s perceptions of me, there was just a point where I realised I just need to be comfortable doing a quarter tab of molly [MDMA] at this party and not drinking and having a much better time. Or eating a tiny bit of shrooms at this thing or having a [weed] lollipop. The next day I don’t have a hangover. I’m not throwing up. It’s just much better for me... Truly, you would be better off doing a hit of acid than drinking.” In 2020, it was announced that Rogen would serve as a producer for the animated film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. [126] In addition to producing, he co-wrote it, [127] and provided the voice of Bebop. [128] [129] a b c d e f Ouzounian, Richard (August 3, 2008). "Seth Rogen sells". Toronto Star . Rogen had roles in Donnie Darko (2001) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004). [27] A big career point for him was becoming a staff writer for Sacha Baron Cohen's last season of DaAli G Show in 2004. [22] Along with the show's other writers, Rogen received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. [28] He became familiar to audiences as one of the main character's co-workers in Apatow's well-reviewed buddy comedy directorial debut feature The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005). [29] [30] Rogen also co-produced it and improvised all his dialogue. [22] [31] "[Rogen] hadn't done any screen work that indicated he could carry as memorable and convincing a performance as he does with the character Cal," MTV's John Constantine wrote. [27] The Boston Globe reviewer Wesley Morris wrote that Rogen, along with co-stars Rudd and Romany Malco, were each hilarious in their own right [32] and Orlando Sentinel 's Roger Moore believed that Rogen had his moments in the film [33] whereas Moira Macdonald of The Seattle Times said the actor was "droopily deadpan". [34] He followed this with a small role in You, Me and Dupree (2006), a critically panned comedy featuring Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson. [35] 2007–2009: Breakthrough as a leading man Rogen in 2007 I know. So much planning would have to go into even the least bit of creative output! You’d need call sheets, you’d need transportation figured out, you’d need lunches for people... you’d need refreshments and, during Covid, the testing every day! [ Laughs.]” Harrod, Horatia (November 9, 2015). "Seth Rogen: 'I asked Fassbender: "Are you, like, weird?'"". The Telegraph. Archived from the original on January 10, 2022 . Retrieved May 26, 2018. And he’s sure of one thing: if Trump had been president at the time, it would have been a whole different story.
